The Minnesota Foundation for Agriculture (MFA) plays an essential role in connecting people across our state to agriculture. Through our platform, MFA supports more than 60 organizations and events across Minnesota. At the same time, we are proud to offer award-winning programs of our own.

Whether it's through community partnerships, statewide initiatives, or innovative programs, the Minnesota Foundation for Agriculture provides opportunities for supporters to connect their passions and interests with the future of agriculture.

Our Programs

Ag Transportation Handbook

The MFA publishes this handbook which outlines rules and regulations for moving agricultural goods on public roadways.

Rural Resiliency Programming on Mental Health

We serve as a resource to farmers and rural community leaders on how they can address mental health and death by suicide, breaking down the stigma.

Opioid Misuse Education and Outreach Programming

The MFA is teaching our farm families and farm workers about the opioid epidemic in our rural communities. We provide resources, education about the safe disposal of prescription medicines, and bring community leaders together to have open and honest discussions about the epidemic.

The Rural Healthcare Initiative

In partnership with the Zumbro Valley Medical Society and the Mayo School of Medicine (Alix), we are introducing medical students to rural healthcare and what it may be like to serve as a healthcare professional in a rural community.

Farm Safety Programming

We provide farm safety resources to communities so that families remain safe around their homes and farms.

Ag Literacy

We support ag literacy through program funding, Ag in the Classroom programming and by purchasing accurate ag books for schools and volunteers who promote ag literacy.

Leadership Development

We support programming that focuses on training the next generation of leaders in agriculture.

Ag Day Gala

This annual event is held on National Ag Day and designed to cultivate and recognize the rich history of the farmers, organizations, businesses, and communities that support the success of agriculture across our state.
